Content and Conduct Policy
This Policy applies to profiles, Moods, Moments, messages, images, links, and other material shared through Up4it (Content). It also applies to conduct during a Moment or other interaction arranged through the Platform.
Members must follow this Policy, the Terms of Service, and applicable law. Context matters, but a claimed joke, tradition, or private audience does not excuse harm or illegal conduct.
1. Safety and Illegal Activity
Section titled “1. Safety and Illegal Activity”Do not use Up4it to create, request, promote, coordinate, or facilitate:
- violence, credible threats, terrorism, violent extremist activity, or praise of real-world harm;
- human trafficking, sexual exploitation, forced labour, or unlawful transport or concealment of people;
- fraud, scams, phishing, identity theft, extortion, blackmail, or deceptive fundraising;
- unlawful gambling, weapons, controlled substances, stolen goods, or other regulated transactions;
- dangerous challenges or instructions likely to cause serious injury; or
- any other criminal activity or illegal Content.
Content discussing a harmful topic for legitimate news, prevention, recovery, or educational purposes may be allowed where it does not facilitate harm and the context is clear.
2. Child Safety
Section titled “2. Child Safety”Any sexualization, grooming, exploitation, or endangerment of a person under 18 is prohibited. This includes child sexual abuse material, sexual solicitation, sextortion, trafficking, requests for sexual images, and attempts by an adult to arrange sexual contact with a minor.
Do not post intimate images of a minor, even if the image was self-created or previously shared. Follow our Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation Policy to report a concern.
3. Sexual Content and Exploitation
Section titled “3. Sexual Content and Exploitation”Do not post pornography, offer sexual services, share non-consensual intimate imagery, threaten to share intimate material, or depict sexual violence. Sexual harassment and unwanted sexual contact are prohibited online and during Moments.
Limited non-explicit health, safety, or educational Content may be permitted where lawful, age-appropriate, and appropriately scoped.
4. Hate and Discrimination
Section titled “4. Hate and Discrimination”Do not attack, dehumanize, threaten, exclude, or promote hatred against people based on a protected characteristic. Do not organize a Moment for unlawful discriminatory purposes. The Non-discrimination Policy provides more detail.
5. Harassment, Bullying, and Privacy
Section titled “5. Harassment, Bullying, and Privacy”Do not:
- repeatedly contact someone after they ask you to stop;
- target a person with degrading abuse, sexual harassment, malicious humiliation, or coordinated harassment;
- stalk, track, or reveal a person’s precise location without permission;
- publish private contact, identity, financial, health, or login information (doxxing);
- share private communications, recordings, or identifiable images without an appropriate legal basis; or
- impersonate another person, organization, or Up4it representative.
Good-faith criticism of conduct or ideas is not automatically harassment, but it must not become targeted abuse or disclose unnecessary personal data.
6. Suicide, Self-Harm, and Eating Disorders
Section titled “6. Suicide, Self-Harm, and Eating Disorders”Do not encourage, instruct, or graphically glorify suicide, self-harm, or disordered eating. Supportive discussion, recovery Content, and requests for help are allowed. If there is an imminent risk, contact local emergency services; Up4it is not an emergency service.
7. Authenticity and Misinformation
Section titled “7. Authenticity and Misinformation”Do not use deceptive media, false identities, or materially false claims to defraud, endanger, or manipulate others. We may restrict false or misleading Content where it creates a material risk of physical harm, unlawful discrimination, fraud, or interference with an emergency response.
Opinions, satire, and ordinary mistakes are not treated as prohibited misinformation merely because they are disputed. Clear context and the likelihood of harm are considered.
8. Spam and Commercial Conduct
Section titled “8. Spam and Commercial Conduct”Do not send repetitive or unwanted promotions, manipulate invitations, artificially amplify activity, scrape Member information, or use Up4it primarily to generate leads without the recipient’s permission.
Commercial Organizers must identify themselves accurately and comply with applicable advertising, price, consumer, and marketing laws. A paid or sponsored relationship must be clearly disclosed where required.
9. Intellectual Property
Section titled “9. Intellectual Property”Share only Content you created or have the right to use. Do not infringe copyright, trademarks, privacy, publicity, or other rights. Copyright reports are handled under the Copyright Policy.
10. Safe and Accurate Moments
Section titled “10. Safe and Accurate Moments”Moment details must be accurate about the Organizer, activity, time, place, intended audience, accessibility, material risks, legal restrictions, and any off-platform cost. Do not conceal a commercial purpose, create a fake event, or invite people to an unsafe or unlawful location.
11. Enforcement
Section titled “11. Enforcement”Depending on severity, context, risk, history, and applicable law, Up4it may reduce visibility, remove Content, limit features, prevent participation, suspend or terminate an account, preserve evidence, or contact an appropriate authority. We may act urgently without advance notice where reasonably necessary to address imminent harm or legal requirements.
We do not guarantee review of every item and do not assume a general duty to monitor the Platform. Enforcement must remain diligent, objective, proportionate, and respectful of applicable rights, including freedom of expression.
12. Reports and Appeals
Section titled “12. Reports and Appeals”To report Content or conduct, follow the Reporting and Appeals Policy. If Up4it takes action affecting your Content or account, you may appeal as described there. Decisions may be revised when new information shows that an error occurred or a different measure is more proportionate.
