How to Exercise Your Data Subject Rights
This page explains how to exercise privacy rights described in the Privacy Policy. The rights available to you depend on the law that applies to your situation.
1. Submit a Request
Section titled “1. Submit a Request”Use an account privacy control where the feature is available, or email support@the-corner.io with the subject Privacy request.
Include:
- the email address or account identifier connected to the request;
- your country of residence;
- the right you want to exercise; and
- enough detail for us to understand the data or processing concerned.
Do not email a passport, identity card, or other sensitive identity document unless we specifically request an appropriate verification method. We will request only information reasonably necessary to verify identity and authority. An authorized representative must show authority to act.
2. Access and Information
Section titled “2. Access and Information”You may ask whether Up4it processes personal data about you and request the information and copies required by applicable law. This may include purposes, data categories, recipients, retention criteria, sources, safeguards for international disclosures, and information about qualifying automated decisions.
We may protect the rights and personal data of other people when responding.
3. Correction
Section titled “3. Correction”You may correct editable profile information in the Platform where the control is available. You may also ask us to correct or complete inaccurate personal data.
4. Deletion and Account Closure
Section titled “4. Deletion and Account Closure”Where an account-deletion control is available, follow the confirmation steps shown there. You may also request deletion by email.
Deleting an account is intended to be permanent. It does not necessarily erase every copy immediately. We may retain limited data where needed for security, fraud prevention, the rights of other Members, backups, legal duties, or legal claims. Content another Member lawfully retains or information that has been properly anonymized may also remain.
Before deleting an account, consider exporting any information you wish to keep, if an export feature is available.
5. Restriction and Objection
Section titled “5. Restriction and Objection”Where applicable, you may ask us to restrict processing while accuracy or lawfulness is reviewed, or object to processing based on a legitimate interest. We will stop or limit the processing unless there are overriding lawful grounds or it is needed for legal claims.
You may object to direct marketing at any time. Essential security, legal, and service messages are not marketing and may continue while your account is active.
6. Portability
Section titled “6. Portability”Where applicable, you may request personal data you provided in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format. The right does not require us to disclose another person’s data or reveal protected security information.
7. Consent and Device Permissions
Section titled “7. Consent and Device Permissions”You may withdraw consent through the control used to give it, relevant app or device settings, or a request to us. Withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal. If a permission is necessary for a requested feature, that feature may no longer work after the permission is withdrawn.
8. Response Time and Fees
Section titled “8. Response Time and Fees”We normally respond without undue delay. Where Swiss law applies, access requests are generally answered within 30 days. Where the GDPR applies, the usual period is one month. Applicable law may permit an extension for a complex request; if so, we will explain the delay.
Requests are generally free. We may refuse or charge a lawful reasonable fee for a manifestly unfounded, abusive, or excessive request, and will explain the basis for doing so.
9. Complaints
Section titled “9. Complaints”If you disagree with our response, reply to the same email and explain the issue. You may also complain to the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) or, where applicable, a data-protection authority in the country where you live, work, or believe an infringement occurred.
Privacy requests do not replace a moderation appeal. To contest a Content or account decision, follow the Reporting and Appeals Policy.
