Non-discrimination Policy

Up4it is built to help people connect without unlawful discrimination, harassment, or exclusion. This Policy applies to Content, invitations, participation decisions, communications, and conduct during a Moment.

Members must not attack, harass, deny access, or treat a person unlawfully or unfairly because of an actual or perceived characteristic protected by applicable law, including:

  • race, colour, ethnicity, caste, or national origin;
  • nationality, migration status, or language;
  • religion or belief;
  • sex, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, or gender expression;
  • disability, medical condition, or genetic information;
  • age;
  • marital, family, or civil status; or
  • another characteristic protected in the relevant jurisdiction.

Hateful Content is also prohibited by the Content and Conduct Policy.

An Organizer may set a requirement only where it is lawful, clearly disclosed, genuinely connected to the activity, and proportionate. Examples may include a minimum skill level for a hazardous activity, an age limit required by law, or an accessibility limitation that cannot reasonably be removed.

A preference, stereotype, customer request, or local custom is not by itself an objective justification for discrimination.

Single-gender or identity-specific Moments may be permitted where lawful and reasonably designed for privacy, support, safety, or the needs of the group. They must not promote hatred or be used as a pretext for unlawful exclusion.

Organizers should:

  • accurately describe physical, sensory, communication, and other material accessibility conditions;
  • respond respectfully to reasonable questions;
  • consider reasonable accommodations where required by law; and
  • avoid asking for a diagnosis or sensitive detail that is not necessary.

Participants should be allowed to assess suitability based on accurate information. Safety requirements must be applied consistently and must not be used to conceal discrimination.

Report a violation under the Reporting and Appeals Policy. Up4it may require Content to be changed, reverse an access restriction where possible, warn a Member, restrict features, or suspend or terminate an account. Serious or repeated violations may result in immediate action.

We consider applicable law, context, safety, proportionality, and the rights of everyone involved. An affected Member may appeal a decision under the Reporting and Appeals Policy.
