What is a Moment?

A Mood can evolve into a Moment: a shared activity with a time, place, and participants. Examples include meeting for coffee, going for a walk, or hosting a group dinner.

Moment, Timeline and Activity

The schedule has three levels: Moment → Timeline → Activity.

Term	What it means
Moment	The whole shared plan, with its organizer, audience and participants. It can be a coffee together, a wedding or a weekend away.
Timeline	A group of Activities within a Moment that belong to the same schedule. A Moment can contain several Timelines, for example for different meeting arrangements or parallel schedules.
Activity	One scheduled part within a Timeline, with a start date and time, a place, an optional end time and an optional description. Meeting at the station, having dinner and taking photos can each be an Activity.

For example, a wedding is one Moment. One Timeline contains the ceremony at 14:00, drinks at 16:00 and dinner at 19:00, each as an Activity. A second Timeline contains a photo session at 16:30 while drinks continue.

Activities can overlap within the same Timeline too, and a Moment can span several days. Add an Activity to extend an existing schedule; add a Timeline to group another schedule within the same Moment.

Joining applies to the whole Moment. Timelines and Activities do not have separate invitations, private audiences or attendance responses.

Who can join a Moment?

A Moment can be public, shared with friends, or limited to invitations. For a personal Moment, the friend audience is the organizer’s accepted friends; for a Community Moment, it is the Community’s members. Selecting Circles narrows that audience to those groups, while selecting none includes all friends or members. Explicit invitees keep access outside the selected Circles. Community invitations can also target Circles. Public Moments can be viewed without an account. Guests have the same visibility choices, but no friend audience or Circles until they register. Guest participation follows the Moment’s access and invitation settings.

Check the audience before publishing, inviting others, or adding a private location. A public Moment does not require the separate Upcoming concept described in the Roadmap to have been released.

Planning several parts

Open Program on an existing Moment to give each part its own start, end, place and invitations. Parts can overlap or continue on another day. Converting a Moment keeps its current responses on the first part; previous general guest links stop working.

You can invite someone to drinks without inviting them to dinner. Shared parts are visible to people with access to the Moment, but attendance can require an invitation. Private parts, such as photographs for the couple, are visible only to their invited accounts and organizers. Guest links can include selected shared parts only.

Each person responds to their parts separately, or accepts all current invitations. New parts remain unanswered. Accepting several parts uses one place in the Moment. A guest link opens its selected invitations; claiming it does not accept them.

Accepted parts can send a reminder about ten minutes before their start when Moment notifications are enabled. Relevant schedule changes notify invited and attending people who have not declined. Delivery depends on device permissions and notification availability.
